An ECU executes a program including: steps (S110, S120) for discharging a battery pack when a charger is connected to an external power source (YES in S100); steps (S116, S126) for terminating discharge of the battery pack when the remaining capacity of the battery pack is lowered to a reset value (YES in S114, YES in S124); and a step (S130) for charging the battery pack after the remaining capacity is lowered to the reset value.
