The device has a toothed rim (10) holding an inner borehole (11) of a hose and is rotatably supported and driven by a drive (12). Another toothed rim (13) is rotatably supported on or under the rim (10) and holds the inner borehole of the hose and driven by another drive (14). A circular cutter (15) with a rotating blade is supported on the rim (13) in such a manner that the cutter extends into the borehole by rotation of the rim (13). The circular cutter is eccentrically arranged on a side, so that the cutter extends into/from the borehole during the rotation of the rim (13). An independent claim is also included for a method for separating hose segments from continuous hose.
