PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a technique for increasing a rotor torque of so-called a variable airgap motor having a configuration in which an annular stator and a round rotor smaller than the inner circumferential circle of the stator are provided, gear teeth are provided on the inner circumference of the rotor to form a rotor gear, gear teeth are provided on the circumference of the rotor to form a rotor gear, the stator gear is geared with the rotor gear, and the rotor rotates eccentrically in the stator. SOLUTION: The variable gap motor is configured so that poles 6 provided on a position (n) and a position (q) spaced from a stator circumferential direction position (a) where a stator gear 16 of a stator 1 is geared with the rotor gear 17 of the rotor 2 drive the rotor 2 by generating a suction force of a tangent direction parallel to a tangent line in an arc of the inner circumference of the stator 1.
