PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clutch for achieving a longer life by reducing a load on the clutch and a drive mechanism to further elongate the life of the clutch and further improve drivability. SOLUTION: The clutch 10 comprises a plurality of friction plates 13 held by a member constituting the driving side of the clutch, and a plurality of clutch plates 14 held by a member constituting the driven side of the clutch. The friction plates 13 and the clutch plates 14 are arranged alternately overlapping each other. An oil supply passage 20 is provided for supplying oil to sites where the friction plates 13 and the clutch plates 14 overlap each other. In oil supply passage 20, a valve is provided for controlling the amount of oil to be supplied. In this case, since the clutch has the oil supply passage 20 for supplying oil to the sites where the friction plates 13 and the clutch plates 14 overlap each other, and the valve 21 in the oil supply passage 20, the amount of oil to be supplied to the sites where the friction plates 13 and the clutch plates 14 overlap each other is controlled to be adequate.
