An electrode 340 comprises a surface region (342, figure 14 A), where least part of the surface region is a roughened portion. The roughness of said portion can be constrained about a mean change of surface profile, within the range of 200 nanometers (nm) to 1000 micrometers (μm). More than one roughened portion may be provided on the electrode 340. The electrode 340 can be produced by a laser marking system, and may have a circular, arcuate or polygonal cross section. The electrode may be used in decontamination apparatus comprising a plasma generating arrangement through which a fluid is passed. |
