Stent with deformable end portion

A stent suitable for the repair of lesions in bifurcated blood vessels is provided having a deformable end portion 4 such that a free end of the end portion can be aligned with the surface of an abutting stent 22 or angioplasty balloon (fig 11) in a main branch of the bifurcated vessel. The stent collapses at a first point by a larger amount that at a second point. The end portion may be formed of a plurality of rings 6 connected by webs 8 or as a spiral (fig 8).
