1331452 Mechanical interrupters JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 8 July 1971 [23 July 1970] 35697/70 Heading H1N A contact breaker assembly for use in an ignition distributer includes a carrier plate 11 carrying a fixed contact 17 and a pivot post 12 pivotally supporting an insulating heel 23 carrying a movable contact 27, pivot post 12 being formed with a non-circular aperture 14 for co-operation with a non-circular tool whereby the tool can be used to pivot plate 11 relative to the distributer casing about the axis of pivot post 12. As shown, aperture 14 is a screwdriver slot so that a screw-driver can be inserted and used to turn plate 11 by the screw-driver through post 12 while holding it in slot 14. Plate 11 is supported on the timing plate and a projection on the timing plate extends through a hole 13, Fig. 2 (not shown) in plate 11 into the hollow interior of post 12. Plate 11, when the contact gap has been adjusted by moving plate 11, is fastened to the timing plate by a screen through slot 15 in plate 11. Plate 11 also carries a lubricating pad 22. |
