摘要 Gas detector comprises a porous and permeable metal oxide (e.g. SnO2 or NiO) semiconductor body, whose electroconductivity changes when it contacts a reducing gas, and a pair of electrodes attached to separate portions of the body. Pref. semiconductor body contains dispersed particles of quartz, alumina, etc., having rough surfaces, and is contained in a metal casing which acts as one electrode. An opening is provided in the casing for direct access or indirect access, via a gas permeable layer, of the gas with the body. Suitable for detecting e.g. smoke, H2, C3H8 or C4H10.
