Gas scrubber - incorporating a turbulent split stream convergence zone

Gas washing process comprises dividing a gas stream into at least two currents directed along the chamber length which first diverge thn converge to form a turbulent mixing zone. Scrubbing liquor is introduced into the gas streams at the point where the streams diverge so that in the turbulent zone it is intimately mixed with the gas. Pref. >=2 scrubbing stages are used.
