<p>Porous body for use as a sieve in a sieving appts. is provided with an edge reinforcement by filling up the edge region with another material. Specif. the filler material is an elastomer forming resilient strips extending outside the face of the edge region so that it acts as packing when built into a sieving appts., or of a foam-forming elastomer whose outer surface is formed by a closed skin. The edge reinforcement of the porous body is effected by (a) enclosing the body with its edge region in a mould, (b) introducing a liquid curable material into the mould cavity in such an amount that the mould cavity is completely filled, and the material penetrates partly into the body, (c) allowing the material to solidify and (d) removing the body from the mould.</p> |
