The gas and oil contained in bituminous limestone or washed coal residue contg. volatiles and limestone ash recovered from a distillation tower, is mixed with residual coke which is only burned in the heating zone, comprises a distillation tower with indirect heating, wherein steam is injected into a bundle of tubes surrounded by the combustion gases heating the furnace.
