<p>Title cpds. are of formula (I): (where R = 1 or 2 opt. substituents selected from lower alkyl, trihalomethyl, alkoxy and halogens, R' and R" = H or alkyl). They are prepd by reaction of a halide or anhydride of a phenoxy nicotinic acid with the appropriate aniline. In an example 13.7g p-phenetidine in chloroform and pyridine was treated with 29g 2-(3-CF3 phenoxy) nicotinoyl chloride to give (I) where R = 3-CF3, R'=H, R"=C2H5.</p> |
