Title cpds. are of formula (I): (where R1 = H or lower alkyl, R2 = CH3 or C2H5; R3 = tert. amyl or tert. butyl, R4 = lower alkyl, X is a grp. (II): B = divalent satd. or ethylenic, straight or branched hydrocarbon). The cpds. have pharmacodynamic, hypocholesterolemic and hypolipemic properties. They are prepd. by esterification of the appropriate bis(dihydrodiphenylthio)alkane with XCOOH or its chloride or anhydride.
