1359232 Blood serum standard BAXTER LABORATORIES Inc 10 Nov 1971 [24 Nov 1970] 52213/71 Heading B1X A method of making a liquid blood serum control standard from anti-coagulant-stored blood plasma comprises thoroughly admixing the defibrinated plasma with a strong acid cation exchange resin substantially to reduce the sodium, potassium and/or calcium ion level in the serum, followed by drying, removing the lipoprotein component by extraction with a fat-solvent, and then reconstituting the serum with water. The constitution may be adjusted by adding one or more of sodium acetate, potassium hydroxide, sodium chloride, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, calcium chloride, urea, glucose, uric acid, creatinine, dried blood serum, thyroxine and sodium bicarbonate, and may then be sterile filtered. |
