Dust sepn appts - comprising cyclones held between upper and lower plates of a dirty air chamber

The appts. partic. for removal of smoke or fume comprises several rows of cyclones arranged one after the other with each succeeding one slightly higher that the preceding one. The chamber for dirty air in which the cyclones are disposed has upper and lower walls which converge in the direction of gas flow. Above the upper wall of this dirty air chamber is a clean air plenum whose walls diverge towards the clean air outlet from the appts. Where each cyclone passes through the upper and lower walls of the dirty air chamber (i.e. the clean air dipleg and the lower conical portion of the cyclone resp.) are provided seals consisting of elliptical collars.
