1324755 Benzothiazepines WARNERLAMBERT CO 21 Jan 1972 [22 Jan 1971] 2950/72 Heading C2C Compounds of the general Formula I (A = H, Ph, substituted Ph; B = OR 1 , NR 2 R 3 ; R 1 = C 1-6 alkyl optionally substituted by alkoxy, PhO or Ph radicals, cycloalkyl, Ph, substituted Ph; R 2,3 = H, OH, C 1-5 alkyl optionally substituted by NH 2 , alkylamino, dialkylamino, polymethyleneimino (the carbon chain of which can be interrupted by a heteroatom) or Ph radicals, Ph, substituted Ph, NH 2 optionally substituted by C 1-6 alkyl, alkylidene, carboxyalkylidene, acyl or aryl radicals, cyclic amino or NR 2 R 3 = unsubstituted or substituted, saturated 5-6 membered ring; or A and B, together with atoms 3 and 4 of the benzothiazepine ring, form a 5-7 membered ring) and their acid addition salts and quaternary ammonium compounds are prepared as follows: (R 4 = H, C 1-6 alkyl; Hal = halogen; X = anion), optionally followed by conversion to an acid addition salt or quaternary ammonium compound. These compounds possess anti-inflammatory activity, and may be administered in the form of pharmaceutical preparations containing them in association with a carrier. |
