1333667 Detecting fault in train line WESTINGHOUSE BRAKE & SIGNAL CO Ltd 20 March 1972 [3 May 1971] 12684/71 Heading B7H A train line 1, which connects driver's cab TC1 and the other cars TC2-TCn of a train and normally provides a series circuit via interlocks 4-5, controlled, e.g. from door operated mechanisms in the cars, to driver's control equipment 2, is tested in the event of a fault by disconnecting the driver's equipment at switch 3 and applying a fixed A.C. voltage from source 6 to the line via A.C. current measuring equipment 8. The current measuring equipment is calibrated in terms of the number of capacitors 9-14 in circuit and thus indicates the position of the break or faulty interlock in the circuit. |
