The enzyme may be esterase, acetylesterase, carboxylesterase or lipase from plants pancreas or gastric sources. The per-compound may be hydrogen peroxide, alkali metal peroxides, perborates, perphosphates, persilicates or percarbonates. The ester may be RCOOR where R has up to 10C atoms, e.g. methyl acetate, propylacetate, methyl butyrate, ethyl butyrate, propyl butyrate, isopropyl butyrate. The acetal may be CH 3 CH(OR) 2 , where R has 2 to 8C atoms. The compositions may contain soaps, e.g. sodium, ammonium and alkylolammonium salts of fatty or resin acids having 8-20C atoms, e.g. fatty acids from tallow, grease, coconut oil, tall oil and mixtures thereof. The composition may contain anionic detergents, e.g. sulphated, and sulphonated compounds containing 8-26C atoms in their alkyl groups such as alkyl sulphates, alkyl benzene sulphonates and fatty acid monoglyceride sulphate; amphoteric detergents, e.g. salts of aliphatic amines containing non-quaternary nitrogen, quaternary ammonium or quaternary phosphonium, an 8-18C atom alkyl group and a carboxyl, sulpho, sulphate, phosphate or phosphono group; nonionic detergents, e.g. amine oxides of formula R 1 R 2 R 3 N->O wherein R 1 is alkyl, alkenyl or hydroxyalkyl having 10-16C atoms, and R 2 and R 3 are methyl, ethyl propyl, hydroxyethyl or hydroxypropyl radicals; cationic detergents, e.g. RNHC 2 H 4 NH 2 where R is 12-22C atom alkyl, R'CONHC 2 H 4 NH 2 where R' is 12-18C atom alkyl, or quaternary ammonium compounds. The composition may contain builder salts, e.g. trisodium phosphate, tetrasodium pyrophosphate, sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium monobasic or dibasic phosphate, sodium hexametha phosphate, sodium metasilicate, sodium or potassium silicate, magnesium silicate, sodium carbonate, sodium sulphate, borax, ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid tetra sodium salt, trisodium nitrilotriacetate, sodium citrate, citric acid, sodium glycollate, phosphonates, diphonates, vinyl methyl ether-maleic anhydride interpolymers and alkali metal, ammonium or amine salts thereof, polymaleic anhydride and salts and mixtures thereof; sodium carboxymethyl cellulose; builder salts, e.g. ammonia, amides, N-alkyl amides, the methanolamide, of coconut oil fatty acid lauroyl or myristoyl glycerol amides, ethanol amides, isopropanol amides, optical bleaching agents, colour and perfume. |
