1363948 Boxes D RACK 13 Jan 1972 [13 Jan 1971] 1700/72 Heading B8P [Also in Division A1] A skeleton structure 2 for a multiple plant substrate body has a plurality of open-topped chambers 1 which can be filled with soil or like material 3 and a cover 4 which closes the chambers 1 and prevents the escape of material during transportation. The skeleton is adapted to be divided into single self contained chambers and is made of elastic porous foam, e.g. polyurethane foam, through which the plants can grow. The cover 4 which may be made from the foam material, is preferably hinged to the skeleton along one edge and can be bonded thereto by adhering or welding or mechanically by clips to close the chambers. The skeleton allows the passage of water and air and can be saturated with plant nutrient to aid growth. |
