Arrangement of bearing and spring - for machine parts which convert rotary into reciprocating motion

This arrangement has a roller bearing in a stationary housing, a plate-spring and a centring element. The bearing is so placed that it has radial play on both the component which converts rotary into reciprocating motion, i.e., the spindle or its bush, and in its housing. A plate-spring is braced against the bearing on one side and a chock on the other. A centring element guides and centres the spring. The advantage is that only one bearing and one spring are required and wear is reduced. An O-ring seal may be incorporated behind the spring.
