A cyclobutane deriv. of formula (I) is used as an ingredient for perfumes, foodstuffs, and beverages to impart or enhance flavour particularly for enhancing or modifying the aroma of flavouring compns. for cosmetics and for reconstituting some natural oils. It may be used also in soaps, detergents, foodstuffs such as sweet milk, milk ice, cakes, chocolate, beverages etc.
