Title cpds of formula R1-Y-CR2R3(CH2)w-Z-CHR4-(CH2)z-CH=CH-Ar (where R1 is 1-6C alkyl, mono- or polyunsatd. 3-6C acyclic hydrocarbyl, cycloalkyl or lower alkyl-subst. cycloalkyl with 5-7 ring C-atoms; R2, R3 and R4 are H or 1-4C alkyl; Z is -Cr5=CH-, -CH=CR5- or CHR5- in which R5 is H or 1-4C alkyl; Y is O or S; w and z are 0-4; and Ar is a gp. of formula (Ia) or (Ib) in which each U is lower alkyl, lower, alkenyl, phenyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkenyloxy, formyl, lower alkylcarbonyl, lower alkoxy-carbonyl, mono- or di(lower alkyl)carbamoyl, lower alkoxymethyl, lower alklthio, CN, NO2, Cl or Br, R6 and R7 are H or lower alkyl, r is 1, 2 or 3, p is 1 or 2, and q is 1 or 2) inhibit the development of insects and spider mites, leading to the death or infertility of the individual insect. |
