Side-discharge tracked bucket excavator - twin buckets on transverse slide sideways under hydraulic pressure

Side discharge bucket excavator consists of two buckets (1) on a transverse rotating arm (2). The buckets are guided in identical slots (7) by pivots (8). When the buckets have been filled, they slide to the sides and the soil is discharged to the right and left of the excavator instead of behind. This is achieved by means of a hydraulic cylinder (3) mounted between the pivot of each bucket and the pivot of the transverse arm, thus making the bucket move towards the outside until each bucket pivot reaches the end of its slot. Each bucket cannot be pivoted to empty out contents until the end of the slot is reached.
