The sieve of the grader is set to oscillate horizontally with a rotary motion. A bearing pin (5) is fitted under the centre of the sieve. It carries a freely rotating hub (4) to which horizontal carrier spindles (6) are fitted. Adjustable bearings (7) hold tapping elements (10) whose under surface is lined with a sound deadening and wear resistant plastics (12). The tapping elements are spaced from the hub by plastics sleeves (9) on the spindle and are located by split pins (11). The centre hub also serves to support the centre of the sieve.
