Contact tabs for car interior light - with inside end of tab forming contact point of switch

One side of the plastic housing forming the interior light has slots into which are pushed special metal tags. These are formed by a metal strip bent double with the free ends pushed into the housing and fitted with retaining barbs. The inside ends of the tags form the contact points of the switch lever so that a simple, compact switch assembly is obtained. The tags are spaced sufficiently apart to prevent inadvertent short circuits. The lamp housing has a clip-in fastening into the roof void, while the electric cables are clipped onto the outside tags.
