The telescopic fitting for the extending table tops which are housed in cupboards includes an outer telescopic tube with a holder for fastening the extending table top and a fastening plate which is provided on the fixed guide of the innermost telescopic tube to fasten a stop on a side wall of the cupboard. This guide is less than half the length of the cupboard depth and is set at a distance at right angles to the plane of the fastening plate. The arc along which the guide rollers for the individual extension plates of the extending table top are attached to the fastening plate has a radius at least nearly half the depth of the cupboard, and allows the extension plates to move more easily over the rollers from their horizontal to vertical positions. Since the plane of the rollers and the longitudinal direction of the multiple telescope are off-set relative to each other at right angles to the plane of the rollers the telescope can be mounted directly beneath the fastening plate.
