The timepiece mechanism has a plastics mounting plate, with a cage for holding the permanent magnet, the top and bottom of this cage each provided with a bearing pin. The coil carrier is also made from plastics and is provided with two holes for locating the bearing pins, and forms a frame around the cage. Pref. the coil carrier is made from two interlocking parts held together by a locking pin extending from one part and locating in a bore in the other part.
