Film lamp with discharge lamp and igniter has the discharge lamp and the igniter in one housing. Between discharge lamp and igniter is a heat protective shield with an insulating material on the lamp side. A second plate as heat shield is 1 cm below the first one and the air space between serves as air cushion. Slots in the housing assist ventilation. The reflector is adjustable by means of a hand wheel sunk into the housing. Arrangement for a colour conversion filter is provided. The switch for the igniter is outside and fixed away from the apparatus.
