<p>A suitably shaped support (5) is supplied with compressed air by means of a feed pipe (8) and has regularly spaced openings (6, 6A) through which the air escapes to form a support cushion for extruded sections (3) of ceramic material. The latter s supplied by an extruder (1) through a control nozzle (2), the length of extrusions being determined by a pivotal cutter (4). The openings (6, 6A) are directed so as to initially drive the extrusions at a greater speed than the speed of extrusion and are directed backwards to slow the extrusions for reception by a roller chain (9) with air cushion nozzles.</p> |
