Cupola consists of a superheating chamber (I) with a sole plate inclined towards the rear wall of the cupola and above which is a row of gas burners; a vertical shafts above (I) and from it by a water -cooled partition which with the cupola walls forms 2 passages of equal section sufficient for combustion products to ascend and liq. metal to descend.
