1416239 Reciprocating-carrier conveyers B W G BERGWERK UND WALZWERK MASCHINENBAU GmbH 22 March 1973 [12 April 1972] 13980/73 Heading B8A A conveyer comprises a pair of load supporting beams 1 flanking a length of chain 3 having interlinked load supporting plates 4 provided with rollers 5 running on rails 6, means for effecting relative vertical movement between the beams 1 and the chain 3 so as to cause either a load to be supported on the beams 1 or on the chain 3, and means to reciprocate the chain 3 so as to advance the load 9 when the chain carries the load and to return the chain when the load is carried by the beams 1, the conveyer including a curved portion in the region of which the rollers 5 are carried by bogies 23 pivoted to the plates 4 and interconnected by links 25, 26. As shown, the rails 6 are carried by a beam 7 which can be raised or lowered by a ram 8, the beams 1 being stationary. Alternatively (Fig. 6), the rails 6 are stationary and the beams 1 can be raised by rams (20). The plates 4 may be flat or provide longitudinal or transverse troughs. The ends of the chain 3 are secured by cables 11 to rams 10 operative to reciprocate the chain. |
