Easy stacking chair with adequate leg room - inclined support unit extends backwards, down to central leg stand

The stacking seat comprises a support unit (3) which is rearwardly inclined at an angle of between 20 and 60 deg. from the point (4) where it joins the seat to the point (10) where it is joined to the leg stand (33). This connecting point (10) with the leg stand lies between the side edges and the front and back edge of the seat (2) in the central area of the latter. The seat unit can thereby be made in one piece from tubular metal or plastics or any other suitable blanks and can be fitted with practically any type of leg stand. It is also possible to fasten the connecting point (10) directly to the floor eg for use in schools, hospitals or the like. The seat can be covered with various different materials and upholstery so that the same basic frame can be used for vastly different seating.
