The power cable plug connector has an elongated outer housing with screwed-in bush around the cable at its inner end, and carries a plate (13) across the other end, through which the bared ends of the wire pass, for connection to the pins (11). This plate carries a pair of lugs (20) to one side, which act as bearings for the rod portions (23) extending from the sides of a swinging arm (25) which, at its other end, is clamped around the cable to act as an anchor (27) so as to resist any pull on the cable. A closure plate (2) which is screwed up against the first plate (13), carries securing screws (12) to retain the bared ends of the wire. The swinging arm (25) carries a rib (26) which supports it against the rear of the inner plate (13).
