The foresail roller carries a cable spool fastened to it. The fore stay from the mast has a cover, forming or enclosing two tubes. One tube is slotted longitudinally and the foresail is inserted into it with its front edge reinforcement. The second tube accommodates the cable, leading to the cable spool. The cable guide has a toothed wheel gear, so that the cable spool can turn faster, than is possible by using the manual crank. This allows the cable to be wound on and off faster. The cable spool has a ratchet, to stop the foresail from running out unintentionally.
