The front bumper bar consists of a centre section (7) and two end sections (9) which are bent upwards as far as the lower edge of the front windscreen to form a 'U' shaped unit. The end flanks serve to deflect the air from the comparatively steep sloping front of the vehicle to both side walls in order to decrease the dirt deposit. The up turned bumper bar ends replace the conventional air deflectors and offer additional protection to the body work. The direction indicators (11) may be fitted to the up turned bumper bar flanks.
