Clip for joining metal panels - is U section with legs prolonged by tongues at ends

The clip (1) is a U shaped section, its base being fixed to the construction framework (2). Each side leg is prolonged by a tongue or tab (5, 6) at each end, leaving a recess between them. A panel (3) is placed with its edge inside the section, taking up half the length and another panel fits in from the other side, meeting the first. Special pliers are used to fold each tab inwards, over the edge of the panel sides to hold it: a panel can be fitted at right angles in the recess provided. The clip can be manufactured with prefolded spring steel tabs, if required.
