<p>The french casement window, has a sub-frame and a sash hinging w.r.t. a vertical axis on a frame post. The frame post is internally rebated and at least partially houses the sash at closure. A weather proof sealing strip extends continuously on the external major plane normal sash faces, to provide the overlap and take up the slack between sash and frame. Pref. sealing strips are of 'V' section. The sash has very shallow grooves for pane location and abutting stiles of two opening sashes, are of similar section, and of the rebated and casement bolt type.</p> |
