<p>The battery of the electric vehicle is exchanged for a freshly charged battery using a special, self propelled trolley with improved access. The trolley has a flat bed supporting guide rails on adjustable, sprung elements so that the rails can be lined up with the battery. Movable grips on the rails hold the battery during transfer. The trolley is fitted with two trailing castors and two driven castors. The driven castors are also steerable and are propelled electrically, hydraulically or via special chain drives. This gives the trolley improved manoeverability so that it can be accurately lined up with the vehicle, without the vehicle having to be accurately parked next to the battery changing station.</p> |
