In a frame for a bed or the like, the sides of the frame are formed of tubular elements disposed substantially along the sides of a rectangle, the corners 4 of the frame being arcuate, resilient members 2 being connected between a pair of opposite sides 1 of the frame, the tubular elements 3 forming the other two sides and the corners 4 having been partially flattened from a circular-cross-section, whereby the sides 1 are urged away from one another to oppose the forces applied thereto by the resilient members 2. The major axis of the flattened section extends substantially parallel to the frame. The central parts 1a of the sides 1 may also be partially flattened, the major axes of the flattened sections extending upwardly and outwardly with respect to the bed frame. |
