<p>The section to be treated is defined by applying pressure to a frame and this localized are a then treated with a pulsating liquid jet stream with a pulse frequency of 2,200 - 3200 min-1. The liquid is recollected in the frame and recycled through the pump onto the skin. Pref. the jet flow stream speed lies between 22.8 and 45.7 cm/sec. The frame (77) has an opening at the front end with a drainage port (88) and a jet nozzle (84, 86) directed through the frame to the outlet. A reservoir (88) is provided as is an intermittent displacement pump (41) producing the pulsating flow. The pump outlet communicates with the jet nozzle (84, 86) whilst its inlet connects to the reservoir, as does the drainage port (88).
