The inlet valve to the tank has a closing plug controlled by a main float. A second release float (114) is fixed to a locking device keeping the main float immersed until the liquid rises as far as this second float. The latter can be fixed to a release pin (111) working in conjunction with a notched sector (102) fixed to the spindle of the valve plug operating mechanism and it can rise above the main float, being mounted on the end of a rod (113) adjusted by sliding in a lever (110) on which the release pin is mounted. It can also be offset to the side of the rod away from the pin. The main float can be ballasted, and oblong in the transverse direction.
