The engine has a shaft fitted with a radius arm (3) which carries a piston (1). The shaft and radius arm are hollow and connect with a number of internal passages in the piston. Fuel is supplied to the annulus containing the piston through the central shaft and passages in the piston. The annulus is bounded by outside of the casing and a sealing cylinder (7). As the piston rotates a fuel-air charge is forced under pressure into the combustion space and ignited by the spark plug (6). The burnt gases from the stroke are expelled by the piston through the exhaust port (10). The combustion chamber is isolated from the exhaust port by the rotating seal (11).
