The selection mechanism, for a pulse-operated automative control receiver was a motor driven drum with variable sliders that are actuated electromagnetically by the audio-frequency control pulses and act on switch arms at the drum circumference. In the unactuated position, the sprung sliders (6, 6') can move radially in the drum (1) and are arrested by a lock (5) that is released by a pawl (2, 2a) disengaging the lock. The sliders are seated on a support (14) inside the drum. This support is adjusted with respect to the drive by a pawl/cog arrangement (11, 12) -- also inside the drum. The advantage lies in rapidly rotating the drum despite the simple construction.
