<p>The dovetail joint for wood panels on boards, for floor or wall cladding, has a portion machined from one edge forming a step (5') and the other edge also stepped (3) to form an overlap when fitted together, this second step including a further groove (2) extending inwards, with the whole joint strengthened by a fitting shaped to fit into the joint region. This fitting (6) consists of a base plate which spans the underside of the joint with a vertical spacer plate which fits the vertical face of the overhung part (4) of the lower member (1), carrying a horizontal strip, (7) which projects into the groove, and above this a corner piece which fits around the top of the overhung part (5') of the other member. A hole (10) in the middle enables it to be nailed in position.</p> |
