The hollow metal handle (9) is fastened to the enamelled saucepan by a retaining member attached to the side wall of the pan and has locking elements which detachably engage with locking elements provided in the cavity of the handle. Each retaining member can consist of a holding plate (3) fastened to the side of wall of the metal pan and tapers towards its free end. There retaining plate has a detent recess (8) in which engages the detent member of the connection in the cavity (13) of the handle (9). This connecting member is resilient and yields under the effect of the retaining plate when the latter is inserted in the cavity. The pan and handle can be enamelled separately so that different pans can be used with different handles.
