<p>Two sets of brake cylinders are supplied by separate pipes connected by the safety valve to a common supply line. The valve has a balance chamber divided into two compartments by a flexible diaphragm. The latter can be subjected to opposite return forces. Each compartment has an entry port connected to the supply line, also an outlet port leading to one of the pipes to the brake cylinders. This latter port can be shut off by the diaphragm. Each outlet port can be incorporated in the end of a boss protruding into one of the compartments, and cylindrical in shape, acting as a seating for a return spring acting on the diaphragm. The inlets can be in the form of restrictors, of the same calibration.</p> |
