<p>Special control device for a weaving loom comprising (a) elements, on >=1 side of the loom, for converting the rotary motion of a motor shaft into a reciprocating rectilinear movement, connected rotatably to a lever pivoted to a fixed support on the fixed loom structure and articulated to a rod, the opposite end of which is articulated to an oscillating sley of the loom at a point not coinciding with the pivot axis of the sley, whereby (b) the points of fixed support and articulation are in alignment when the sley is at that end of its oscillation at which the warp shed is open, while the lever rotates through an angle 180 degrees so that only one such posn. of alignment occurs. In contrast to the usual motion of the sley, a longer rest period is provided where the sley reverses its motion at the weft insertion position (shed open), than at the opposite end of its stroke, so that for the same effective weaving speed slower shuttle speeds ma be used or alternatively greater weaving rates can be achieved with the same shuttle speeds.</p> |
