Composite thermoformable sheet comprises a layer of extensible fabric laminated to a layer of platicised PVC sheet by an interlayer of foamed plastics material. The fabric pref. has an extensibility of >5% (esp. >20%) in one direction under a load of 2.268 kg/5.08 cm width. The PVC sheet may be a cast or calendered sheet 0.1-2 mm thick. The foam layer is pref. 1-20 mm thick, and is pref. of PVC or polyurethane resin. Sheet is used esp. for making flexible, shaped, stuffed or padded furnishings such as car seats. The composite structure combines strength with a soft pleasant feel.
