A direction indicator for a motor cyclist consists of a pair of indicator lamps mounted on stalks projecting outwards from the rider's helmet. The stalks are secured by a band fitting round the helmet. The switching system is housed inside a pocket mounted on the strap and operated by the rider tilting his head. An on/off switch can be includes, and the direction indicator switch can be a mercury switch inside the pocket. The strap can be kept in place by clips, buttons, friction devices etc. A power supply unit containing batterys incorporates a device to cause the lamps to flash. In an alternative design, a ball operated direction indicator switch can be used instead of a mercury switch. In either case, the balls or the mercury are housed inside a V shaped tube.
|
