The firing tube securement is for water trough barriers in coal mines as protection against coal dust and/or methane explosions and consists of two plate shaped holders (4) fixed at one end to the ends (2) of the trough itself (1). The holders have holes (5) to admit the ends of the tube (6, 7) and have additional holes (8) for spacer and locking members (9). The holders are so fixed in the trough, and/or the holes for the tube so arranged in their holders that the tube as located should lie in the middle of the trough contents (1). The spacer and locking members should have grooves machined on their shafts to locate the walls of the holes in the holders. The shafts expand conically (12) at one end towards these grooves used to locate the hole walls.
